BLOOMFIELD — Confessed murderer Jeffrey Leone had what appeared to be a close relationship with his 13-year-old stepdaughter, Jennifer Watkins, before he raped and murdered her in December 2000, his ex-wife testified Tuesday.Leone, who pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the crime earlier this year, is facing a hearing to determine whether he is eligible for a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole. Testimony is expected to be completed today.Linda Davis, who began using a different last name after her divorce from Leone was final last July, said she\'d known her ex-husband for more than 20 years. During that time, he\'d never been abusive either verbally or physically to any of her three children, she said."We talked about everything," she said of their relationship.
