The highly anticipated match-up saw Dowling Catholic emerge victorious with a score of 14-10, securing their spot in the 5A state championship game. This triumph was a sweet revenge for the Maroons, who bore the brunt of a regular season loss to the Tigers. The game's turning point came in the third quarter when Joey Nahas, a star quarterback, connected with Jeffrey Roberts for a breathtaking 69-yard touchdown, sealing the deal with just under two minutes to spare.
Nahas' performance was nothing short of stellar, completing 8 out of 17 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Ian Middleton's prowess on the ground contributed 125 yards from 29 carries. Roberts, a talented receiver, caught three passes for 76 yards, while Jimmy Nahas and Sam Drexler also made significant contributions. The Maroons' strategy, as Nahas revealed, was to stay calm and composed, a testament to their resilience.

Reece Rettig's brilliance shone through as he connected with Pryor Reiners for a first-quarter touchdown, followed by a rushing score and another TD pass to Logan Laubenthal. Brody Beaver's rushing touchdown early in the second quarter extended their lead to 14-0. Waukee Northwest fought back with Bodie Morrison's end-zone fumble recovery and an offensive touchdown by Mack Heitland late in the fourth quarter.
Rettig's performance was exceptional, completing 26 out of 31 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 66 yards on the ground. Beaver's 93 yards on the ground and Reiners' six catches for 53 yards were standout performances. Heitland, a Louisville commit, finished with 19 of 25 passes for 150 yards and 32 yards on the ground. Isaiah Oliver and Jordon Green also made significant contributions with their catches.
